When modifying a negative, which is an irreversible process, you obviously don’t want to modify a negative you really like. I often use these test negatives which I take while testing a new camera (they are actually really old cameras). I shoot these experimental negatives aimlessly and very quickly and so they are clearly good candidates for alteration.
